steel silos

Due to the low cost and short construction period of steel silos, grain storage is generally carried out using steel   silos these years. The usage of steel silos generally requires supporting systems and processes such as grain loading and unloading system, ventilation, fumigation, grain monitoring, cleaning, dust removal, warehousing, cooling, and riot prevention. These systems and processes provide security for the safe storage of grain in steel silos.

Current research shows that for storage tolerant grains such as wheat, the safe storage period of using steel silos can be equivalent to the conventional storage period of a warehouse style silo, with an optimal storage period of about 3 years; For rice, corn, and other crops, as long as the moisture content is within a safe range, the grain quality is good, there is no pest infection, and the maximum storage period can also reach about 3 years. However, from the perspective of grain quality, the optimal storage period should be within two years.

Using a dryer equipped with a steel silo for cooling, equipped with ventilation duct devices, and properly installed exhaust and pressure pipes for ventilation and storage of corn. After two years of testing, it has been confirmed that the steel silo can safely store grain for a long time under ventilation conditions with minimal quality changes. It is feasible to use steel silos for long-term natural low-temperature storage of soybeans, but the storage time should not exceed 3 years. After being stored and dried in the steel silo, the yellow corn was ventilated and covered, and insect repellent phosphorus was used as a protective agent. After 3 years, there was no fever or mold, and there was little change in corn quality. So the storage of grains in steel silos does not have a significant impact on the quality of grain processing technology.
